Urban Landscape
Urban landscape project is using art with the surroundings. The two pieces should play off each other. For this project, you need to think of a space where your project could be on display. That could be here in school (think the falcon by the gym), that could be a park down the street. That could be even at your house.
Longmont has several sculptures around town that use the surroundings as part of its art. Below are a few examples of what our humble town had to offer

Do some solo research and sketches
For this project, students will: Enhance skills of creating sculptures based on the theme Understand technical and aesthetic approaches to developing their idea to illustrate the theme. Make informed choices about techniques to create their art. Develop an understanding and sculpture in the world around them. Analyze and discuss complex ideas in works of art. Create original works of art of increasing complexity and skill that reflect their feelings and point of view. Describe the relationship involving the art maker, the process, the product and the viewer. Demonstrate proper art making techniques in production of a work of art Students will create art with the given theme. Take photos of your sculpture and upload them to your website Answer the questions below in a discussion type layout on your website. Fill out a rubric and see Mr. Warren when you are done for a review and grade Questions to be answered about your photos: • Why did you choose this theme to represent your work? • Gives insight into your idea. Why you chose the subject, background and materials? • Was its successful? • Briefly describe what your project is about. • What principals and elements did you use to make your sculpture? (Elements: Line, shape, form. value, space, color, texture. Principles: Rhythm, balance, emphasis, unity, variety, movement) • What did you learn in the process of completing this project? • List 2 things you would change and tell why. • Give more details you feel are needed |
